Here are recommendations for activities prior to signature gathering.

1. Apply as a volunteer with the official web sites.
    
2. Encourage others to volunteer whether in your county or another.

 
3. Make contact with other volunteers in your county to coordinate activities.

 
4. Create a First Day List.
   • Make a list of people to contact later for signatures.
   • Contact the people on the list NOW and ask them to volunteer.
   • Encourage the people on your list to make their own First Day List
     to solicit volunteers and encourage further list making.
   • The object is to create the equivalent of a giant phone tree
     in preparation for later signature gathering.

5. Use posters to solicit volunteers.
   • Edit your contact information into a copy of the online Wanted Alive Poster
   • Print a supply of the posters.
   • Post them in permitted places where potential volunteers will see them.
     (Gun stores, sporting goods stores, firing ranges, etc.)
   • Use the posters as inexpensive handouts at gun stores,outside supermarkets, etc.

   • or download your county petition file and
     print on your own high quality printer,
   • or take your county petition file to a print shop.

4. Collect signatures from your family and friends.
   Recruit them as volunteers.

 
5. Create petition gathering packets.
   • Print four copies of your county's petition.
   • Print one copy of instructions.
   • Print a pre-addressed envelope.
   • Attach with a paperclip (no staples)
      
6. Supply packets to your family and friends.

 
7. Supply packets and a supply of petitions
   to local pro-gun businesses and organizations.

 
8. Contact everone on your First Day List to get their signatures.
    Have them make the contacts on their First Day Lists, etc.

 
9. Find volunteers to relieve store clerks
   from having to collect signatures.

 
10. Frequently resupply packets and mail
    completed petitions.

 
11. While time remains and making best use of
    other volunteers, repeat appropriate steps above.

 
12. Celebrate briefly and
    prepare to get-out-the-vote.
