RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT Petition Instructions There must be a ONE INCH MARGIN at the top of both sides. This is a legal requirement and the space is to be used only by the county. If you must make COPIES of the petition, make one master copy from the PDF file, then copy the rest from this. If the petition quality degrades because copies are made of copies, the Registrar of Voters may reject the signatures. Copies must be made on 8.5" by 14" paper only. DO NOT MODIFY or amend the petition in any way. ONLY REGISTERED VOTERS will be counted. Unregistered voters may sign the petition if they are to register by April 15, 2006. It is recommended that you have voter registration cards with you when you get signatures. Pick up voter registration cards at your county Registrar of Voters office. VOTERS FROM ONLY ONE COUNTY may sign on any one petition. Petitions will be validated by that county's Registrar of Voters. The petitions may be pre-printed with a county name to reduce confusion and loss of valid signatures. You may need to enter the name of the county in four places. The person signing as Circulator can be from a different county. ADDRESSES AND NAMES MUST BE LEGIBLE. DO NOT USE HI-LIGHTING on the petitions or they might be rejected by the county Registrar of Voters. FILL IN THE DECLARATION IN YOUR OWN HANDWRITING at the bottom of each petition after signature gathering. Stamped information, such as your home address, will invalidate the petition. SIGN EACH PETITION at the bottom. MAIL COMPLETED PETITIONS TO: The Alliance for Civil Rights 1261 Lincoln Ave Suite 111 San Jose, CA 95125-3030 The LAST DAY to collect signatures is April 15, 2006.
